Skulltimate Secrets Neon Frights
THE BRIEF
Tasked with the production of a 30 second ad for social media distribution, we embraced the opportunity to introduce audiences to this latest Monster High product range including the dolls, their coffin-shaped cases and secret colour change keys. In close collaboration with the director, we broke down the requirements outlined in pre-production with consideration for character animation and specialist filming techniques, to determine the best approach and most efficient production schedule.
OUR PROCESS
Recognising the unique challenge posed by the dolls' glow in the dark outfits and accessories, we devised special techniques to capture their luminous effects practically in camera. During filming, we used UV lighting in the studio to enhance the glow of the dolls' neon fashion and accessories. This allowed us to film multiple different lighting exposures, capturing the vibrant practical neon effects that brought the characters to life in a truly mesmerising way. Our talented stop motion animators delivered performances that best expressed the unique personalities of these well loved characters and captured the essence of the Monster High brand overall.
THE RESULTS
Upon its release, the ad received significant engagement across all social media channels, and was met with an overwhelmingly positive response from fans of the franchise.
Further, the use of UV lighting under camera provided a practical product demonstration of each doll’s unique neon clothing and glow in the dark accessories so prospective consumers could really see this stylish product feature.
